Winter 2025 looking to the Horizon of 2026!
Dear Constant Friends,
In 2015, I directed my first production with First Impressions Theatre (SCOTLAND ROAD) Since then I have directed 20+ other productions and somehow found myself a creative home that has nurtured me and my family and made us believe. The ever-rocky endeavour to create art and the precarious and often fragile life of a theatre requires fortitude, strength, tenacity, endless hard work, and supportive friends like you.
We live in a challenging and perilous time for the arts. The cost of everything has gone up and through pandemic and flood and all manner of challenges FIT has grown, spread its wings and evolved into a respected touring theatre and beloved local theatre company with partners, allies and artists all over the province and even into Alberta.
A few years ago, we asked 100 people to give $100 dollars to help us through Pandemic times. I’m here to ask again that you strongly consider a gift of $100 to First Impressions as we prepare to launch the largest most ambitious season in our 42-year history. It’s not a huge request BUT it will make a huge impact if all our friends pitch in to support us beyond the price of a simple ticket.
So, as you consider a gift to First Impressions Theatre this season, I hope you will recall the moments you have shared with us. Remember the laughter ringing through the theatre, the music and songs you hummed all the way home, the actor you’ve seen in several productions and always love to see again, that special insight you learned at a talk-back, those moments of connection have become our reason to exist.
Whether you are a long-time loyal patron, a relative newcomer, or a first-timer, I hope you will consider a $25/$50/$100/$500 gift as we enter the giving season. We need your help more than ever.
